"I joined a online message board nearly ten years ago that was made for young fans of a certain fantasy author (don’t judge me for being a nerd, that’s God’s job). I’ve stayed in touch with a lot of the girls, one of whom messaged me today with a very special request. She and I have both recently connected more closely with our faith, and she wanted to strike up a relationship where we could talk about God and his workings in our life. It was the best kind of surprise, and what a blessing! I’m so excited to talk with her!"

this is ME being talked about on my friend Maggie’s blog in a list of blessings she had that day :)

Guys, really, I love this site. I’ve been a part of it for ages and it is the best, most supportive community I’ve found.

Biting the bullet and reblogging this even though a large part of me is like “MINE ALL MINE” — but I’m trying to be a grownup and it’s Christmas so YAY SHARING. Sheroes has been my online home for nine and a half years. These people are some of the best I have ever known. So…yeah, feel free to come on and join. We love new people and have a great time talking about books, current events, crafting, our lives…and supporting each other through thick and thin. Aww I have a few tears in my eyes from how much I love Sheroes…

PEOPLE.

This just went down (sigh)

Middle class white lady on a webforum discussing baby names: No ghetto names (sorry, Sha-nay-nay, Bon-qui-qui).
Me (middle-class white lady): *cringes at term “ghetto names”*
Another middle-class white lady:
Would you prefer “names highly statistically likely to pertain to African Americans from poor, poorly-educated inner-city families”? Kind of a mouthful…
Multiple People: haha/LOL/wish this were on FB so I could like it

WHAT. THE. FUCK. NO. Check your racist bullshit, oh my GOD. I posted an explanation of what was problematic, and links…but the thing is they KNOW. They know why I cringed, they know why it is racist…they just don’t care, I guess?

Kind Friend On A Webforum: Besides that, drink lots of fluids. This will make you pee a lot, also increasing the rate at which you flush out the virus. My family swears by tea+honey, since tea makes you pee extra, and it's a fluid and honey all in one.
Me (to myself out loud): Luckily, I'm a champion at peeing.
