I hope you love your life now, like I love mine
I hope the painful memories only flex their power over you a little of the time
We held on to hope of better days coming
And when we did we were right
I hope the people who did you wrong
Have trouble sleeping at night

Also something I forgot to mention that happened in the past few days is that at a particular festival I had the opportunity to see Julie Feeney, a rising Irish music star live in concert in a lovely and intimate venue. Naturally I went. Her music is a lovely amalgamation of Indie, classical, alternative and a hint of her Irish roots all tied together through naturally creative lyrics and flowing breath based melodies of her own original creation. That kind of music is right up my ally and It’s needless to say that it was the best concert experience of my days thus far. I went in not knowing much of her and left a fan. (I’m not getting paid to say this I swear.) I missed out on the opportunity to get a potentially signed CD however because I had left my bag in the car, worst mistake ever, but oh well maybe next time.

A bit about the song above:

Julie prefaced most of the songs that night with little anecdotes or stories to explain them, this is the story for Julia….

She dedicated this song to her late grandfather; it relates to the fact that after his wife died people asked him why he didn’t sing anymore he simply said in reply

"I have nothing to sing about anymore…" {A loos quote)

This, I believe, was Julies version of what a song for her (the grandmother) by her grandfather would have sounded like after her sad departure.

A very emotional number indeed. Sounded even better in person.

Side note: The sun set behind her through the large glass pains of the antique window as she sung this song.

I have listened to this CD at least five times in the past two days. It is beautiful, soulful, mellow, and warm.
