My dear friend Tiff (sometimesalwaysandnever.tumblr.com) sent me a series of prompts. YAY! I am going to space them out for maximum fun. Today’s is:
1. If you could be a combination of any 2 animals (be they alive, fictitious, what have you), what would they be and why?
» WELL. Solid question. I think I would like to be a combination of a deer and a pegasus, so like an unusually large deer that could fly. As you know, my Patronus is a doe, and I desperately crave antlers. Also, flying would be awesome. I enjoy woodsy places and if I were closer to horse size I could fly around and rescue children (because they could ride on my back to safety). :) I’d like to live in the woods at a cave near a stream. Only downside I can really see is the extreme lack of dexterity. Maybe I’d have a friend with opposable thumbs (/fingers at all…) and we’d work together…
Graduated. Here’s me speaking at our ceremony (all graduates are invited to speak; cool department, eh?). Said a very difficult goodbye to one of the greatest people on the planet, a best friend of mine who has taken care of me in so many ways. I love you Tiff.
All three ceremonies (PBK, Lavender Graduation, Women’s and Gender Studies graduation) complete. Tomorrow…I leave town. Good lord!
today: workout (pilates?). clean bathroom. shower. breakfast. speed-clean room. homework (german, read Giovanni’s Room). lunch. more homework! dinner. a cappella concert with Friend L and Friend T. hit the bars for drinking & dancing with my queerfolk. guzzle gatorade/pedialyte and crash. :)
goals: finish German HW and 1/2 of Giovanni’s Room, eat 2200 calories.
I love when someone says something that indicates that his/her friends or family know tons of details about you…just because he/she talks about you that much. And you realize how much you must mean to that person. Warm fuzzies. :)

amen. ready to get out to Eugene. I mean, all of it: including that soup that I am obsessed with from Safeway which is so good in rainy-autumn with some bread…also tea, also wearing long pants and sweaters, also evenings spent at T&T’s apartment: new and improved because my PiC (partner-in-crime!) will be there too. Oh so excited!!
My friend Tiff and I decided we wanted to have a dinner party/potluck a couple weeks ago.
When I got to Tiff’s place I found them cutting tiny little fingerling potatoes into even tinier pieces.
Tiff made a mix of red onion chopped so fine it was almost glitter, diced fingerling potatoes, olive oil and herbs. Tiff told me that they used rosemary, basil, garlic, summer savory, salt, and pepper to taste.
30 minutes or until roasted and slightly brown at 350.
I made my own last night but I used only garlic powder, basil, oregano, and salt and pepper with diced sweet yellow onion and a splash of olive oil.
Took me about 15 minutes of chopping and tossing and another 45 minutes in the oven.
Damn they were good.
A simple recipe but sometimes the simpliest recipe can be the most satisfying and the cheapest.
half of a 1.99 a lb bag of fingerling potatoes at Trader Joe’s (I will just use cheaper potatoes next time), 1/2 of a .79 sweet onion, a splash of olive oil at 3.99 a bottle, spices—1.12 buying in bulk and using salt and pepper I snagged at a restaurant.
About 2.25 for one batch that makes two servings. Add a black bean burger patty and some sauteed spinach and you have a meal!
Recipe from one of my best friends in the universe. Tiff always feeds me delicious food (zee has a feeding-people thing) and although I try to reciprocate, my food is never quite as tasty as what Tiff cooks…!
